📄 Adding CRATE when size needed is unknown

Adding CRATE to Quote (when size needed is unknown)

The Following is a step by step on how to add a crate to a quote when you are not sure what size you need. This is the case for majority of international shipments.

The part number that we will use for this will be called CRATE FEE. This will be used as a placeholder for you so that you will be able to add the correct Crate to the order, once available.

Below I will show you the steps.

STEP 1 : Add the line to your QUOTE. Please note that $800 should cover the sales price of all the crates we currently use. If you know that the sale price of the crate you need is less, you can change that on your quote. Send quote to Customer.

Step 2: Upon Receiving a PO from your customer and they have chosen to accept the crate fee, proceed with the following:

 1) Prior to converting your QUOTE into a SALES ORDER, "Add a note" that states ADD CRATE $800 ( or whatever price you quoted your customer). This will be your reminder to add the crate and give you the price .

2) Delete CRATE FEE line from quote, Update your Estimated Ship Date and Confirm to SALES ORDER.

3) Add Fulfilment Instructions to the PICKING INSTRUCTIONS for Ryan to advise on what Crate is needed.

***Below Recording is how to do the above.

Step 3: Ryan ( Shipping Dept) will send an Activity stating what Crate needs to be added to the sales order, to the CSR that confirmed the sales order .

Step 4: The CSR will then go to the sales order, and ADD the Crate-D that was given above. Delete the Note that you had stating "ADD CRATE $800.  Here you will also change the Sale price of the Crate that was added to $800 if that is what was agreed upon. Once you are done , you must go back to the Activity above and mark it as done.

The Activity should look like this now. ( I added a note that shows up as Feedback. its a good idea to do this and put your initials):

Your Sales order should now look like the below :

and your pick should look like this if Ryan didn't already start The Pick.

*** If you accidently confirmed your sales order before removing the CRATE FEE, don't worry. All you have to do is ZERO out the quantity on your sales order and SAVE. ( see below)
